We are a dedicated woman owned non-profit bringing a free resource to millions of people around the world that require a gluten free diet due to celiac (coeliac) or related illnesses.
My name is Sally Amerine and I was diagnosed with celiac on my son’s 1st birthday in 2009. I have since traveled to over 30 different countries, lived in Australia, and found that the resources for traveling still lacked the right level of information for me to be safe or providing me choices that just didn’t make sense. It wasn’t just about the restaurants, what about the airlines, the airports, the hotels, cruise ships or even the city tours?
Yes, there are great apps and information out there but I wanted to do something a bit different — I wanted to drive the cost of traveling with celiac disease down as much as possible. I was tired of having to pay monthly fees or finding out businesses were being charged to have their place listed on certain apps or websites.
This is a passion project and my way of giving back to this community by creating something that I would use myself.
Our Mission!
Our mission is to list and provide resources, reviews and links to the best celiac safe places for your travel needs. While many resources exist, the issue is that many will require an ongoing subscription or they charge the businesses to be listed on their app or website.
We have a goal to educate people either eating a gluten free diet or serving food safely from kitchen staffs, hotels, resorts, airlines and much more. We also will continue to grow our resource list of travel agents blogs, apps, and other websites as resources to help this community.
Other Funding Options?
Will we have ads at some point or look for sponsors? It is our goal to make the user experience the best possible and ads tend to get in the way. Your donation helps us keep from putting ads into the app or website.
Why donate to this app or website vs pay for the others?
This website and the related apps started because we wanted to drive the costs down for celiac safe eating and to bring more awareness to how this disease effects not only the person with celiac but those that travel or dine with them.
Donate today to help us continue to expand the information we are making available with no subscription costs or costs to the businesses. We are truly putting the term “non-profit” into the non-profit by investing every donation back into helping grow this community.
