Exactly one year ago today, Mr H & I packed up our lives and moved to the Lake District to begin a brand new chapter @domehouselakes .

Twelve months later… what a rollercoaster it’s been.

Working in hospitality isn’t easy, but we definitely have a better work life balance and the views here are stunning. Some days I wonder how I get any work done.

I’ve stayed true to who I am as a chef.

I care deeply about dietary requirements and making food that everyone can enjoy without compromise. Whilst we’re not a dedicated gluten-free establishment, we take huge care with our coeliac guests, because I know how much trust that takes.

One of the biggest highlights of this first year has been welcoming some of our previous OTWT customers through the door.

Seeing familiar faces in a completely new setting and sharing our adventure with them has felt truly special.
