Review: UPDATE: I ended up sick for 3 days. Ruined our anniversary weekend. Walking in, it’s a cute little place. Kind of like costa Vida set-up wise and also where you can pick stuff for your bowl, but all GLUTEN-FREE!!! The entire restaurant is gf!! We ordered the BBQ Luau bowl and the Teriyaki bowl. Bbq luau bowl was rice, green beans, sweet potatoes and bbq chicken. There was a sauce also, and I had that on the side. Which turns out was a good idea as I didn’t like the sauce. The rice was dry, the sweet potatoes tasted like they had turmeric on them, the green beans were tender and had garlic in them. The chicken was a good mix of dark meat. I will definitely get this one again, without the sauce. The teriyaki chicken came with coconut rice, garlic green beans, broccoli and teriyaki chicken. The rice was odd. Hubby said he could taste coconut, I thought it tasted a little soapy and moldy. Again the green beans were yummy. The broccoli was so sad! It was a weird orange color, dried out and not good. I was really bummed as I usually love broccoli, but this got tossed. The chicken was tender and good. Our complaint: The temperature of the food was NOT hot. In fact we probably should not have eaten it as it was definitely in the danger zone. If we get sick I will update this. We also noticed that the girl taking our order was chomping on and popping her gum. This is a restaurant, chewing gum and popping it spreads saliva. Really don’t want to eat that. This is just not ok. A major food safety concern.

Review: They have vegan options, which is why we stopped. Unfortunately, the mushrooms in our bowl tasted really old, so we skipped them in order to avoid an upset stomach.

Review: You GOTTA check this place out!!! Great food, great service, and a super friendly atmosphere. There are lots of vegan / vegitarian options, along with standard options, so everyone can find something they love! Thanks for an awesome dining experience, 10 out of 10, I would definitely recommend it!!!

Review: I was pleasantly surprised to find many Vegan options here at Mahana Fresh. I chose the Big Mahana Bowl with coconut rice, sesame noodles, garlicky cilantro green beans, roasted sweet potatoes, sesame garlic tofu, avocado smash, and citrus ginger sauce. I was disappointed with the size of the portions, as they were smaller than I expected, and I left feeling hungry. The tofu was a bit dry and lacked flavor, and the green beans were a tad on the cold side. The sweet potatoes tasted delicious, as did the coconut rice and sauce. Overall I was satisfied with my meal for the most part. I was also impressed with the wide variety of choices available. A look around the restaurant proved a welcome sight of cleanliness, and the drink bar was spotless. I also took note of the floors both in the dining area and behind the food service counter. They were quite clean and free of dropped food or spills. The atmosphere is cheerful and bright, and there are plenty of tables and seating for both small and larger parties. What made this dining experience stand out was the exceptional service I received. The kindness, friendliness, and knowledge of the team members at Mahana Fresh is to be commended. Sometimes food can use a bit more seasoning or a bit less time in the oven, but those are things that can be easily corrected. Excellence in customer service is so hard to come by these days, as is a great attitude. This is what will bring me back to Mahana Fresh again.
