Review: I rarely write reviews but I had to share my excitement about Alter Ego Eatery. I visited the shop for the first time today and was overwhelmed by the amount of delicious-looking, all gluten-free options. I have been eating a gluten-free diet since 2007 when I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy. Since then, I have been on a quest, for gluten-free foods that taste as good as they look. Often times, things look amazing but the flavor or texture is off. This is not the case with the items I got today at Alter Ego Eatery. I purchased a cream puff, a lemon-blueberry muffin, and a baguette. The cream puff was heavenly - the chocolate ganache on top was dark and rich, the cream had a lovely consistency and was not overly sweet, and the pastry was perfect. The lemon-blueberry muffin was moist and flavorful - loaded with fresh blueberries! I haven't tried the baguette yet - but the smell, look, and feel of it make me think it will be divine. And the fact that it came with a small instruction card for care and reheating tips, makes me think that the owner knows the plight of gluten-free eaters! I look forward to many return visits!

Review: Always a lovely trip when I go to alter ego. Everything is gluten free which is amazing. Such interesting and delicious options and their cream puffs are the best! The donuts are so tasty too.

Review: Run don’t walk, run! This place is amazing and has been a godsend since the very beginning. Kayla has been the best since I met her. She is so conscious and very mindful of dietary restrictions. She would know what I could and couldn’t have, it was incredible. I found myself always going to wherever they were (festivals, pop ups, or wherever they were selling their products) just to get my hands on the most delicious gluten free goodies. Eventually my husband and I had to move out of state but Kayla would work with us and make sure I’d get my goodies whenever I ordered them. We just visited Rochester a few days ago and I told my husband it was an absolute must to stop in and see this amazing transformation!! I am so so proud of how far they have come from the beginning to where they are now. Please take my word that you will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy all the goodies they have to offer. Whenever I’m back in town this is the one place you will find me.

Review: Highly, highly recommend this place! Everything is gluten free, and you wouldn’t even know it! My sister has celiac and she was able to eat here and had no issues. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We tried their BLT sandwich, their tiramisu flavor of the day, and their coffee, and all were amazing! We were both so shocked at the flavor and the texture of their gluten-free bread. It’s like regular bread; we had to buy a whole loaf it was that good! So happy to finally find a tasty, celiac safe place like this. We will definitely be back!
