Review: Cute tiny shop. Ordered some pastries Wednesday and came in Sunday to enjoy in person. We ordered an assortment of vegetarian pastries (I think they're all vegan), some of which were unique. My partner and I especially loved their pandan layer cake slice and the rice cake / ball item filled with mung beans. I love that Berlu is adding an Asian flavors and flair to Portland's diverse pastry and food scene. We also tried their vegan noodle soup which was pretty special. It was a large portion and the flavor was nice and has a bit of spice. Perfect for a cold morning.

Review: The only cerebral dining experience I've had in Portland, thus far. Good food is everywhere in PDX, but a dinner engaging all of the senses & the imagination & curiosity... that's Berlu. It's edible art. The ambiance is intimate, spotless, simple, & chic. It's a clear canvas highlighting the beautiful dishes & allows you to focus in on the delicious food. Thoughtful, luxurious touches in the David Bowie bathroom. Service is intuitive, genuinely kind, & unobtrusive. The Omnivore & Vegan menu are both sublime & the wine pairing is fun. One pairing even blew my mind & I've enjoyed many pairings around the world. And the chill music completed the perfect touch. Tip: the entrance is on 6th, BETWEEN Belmont & Morrison.
