Review: I absolutely love this place and all the inventive options they have for vegan/plant-based diets. One critique I do have is for the chef-tasting menu which I have done three times now. The experience is one where you sit near the kitchen and have a window view into the makings of the dishes along with a catered several course meal for two. They also provided free champagne because it was our anniversary. The only downside is that the tasting menu cost is over $200 (with tax and tip) and the portions they serve you are half/-portions sometimes smaller. If you spent $180 at Bloom On your own, you could get full portions just about the same amount of food, try more dishes that interest you, and have leftovers. The chef tasting menu is great for getting a wide selection of things to try, trying a new activity on the row , feeling more in-touch with the process, and having small talk with the restaurant staff. However, if you’re looking to sample the menu, pay around $200, and take home what you like, just make regular reservation and pick out your faves! Still love the restaurant and will make a separate 5-star review just for the regular restaurant experience.

Review: I had a short overnight layover in Chicago and wanted to find a tasty, healthy, and unique restaurant to eat at. I found all of this and more at Bloom. It was a Thursday evening, and I was fortunate to be able to make a reservation at the chef's counter for their fixed 6 course meal. I literally landed at ORD, got thru customs, and ubered over for dinner. I was greeted at the door and led to my seat with the best view in the house. The service here was fantastic, and the food was wonderful. The flavors were bold and distinct. The dishes weren't trying to mimic as a meat alternative but rather the food played to the distinct flavors of their ingredients. Like the carrots and hummus dish with Crispy kale was a beautiful rendition of the typical mundane snack. The gnocchi with vegan cheese or tomato sashimi sushi starter were absolutely delectable. I would highly recommend getting the non alcoholic drink pairing. The drinks were imaginative and delicious and complimented each dish. My favorites were the faux pisco sour and the orange nightcap. Overall, the meal at Bloom was superb. Their attention to detail, from growing their own herbs to using the freshest organic ingredients to reducing bio waste, I can definitely see them getting a green Michelin star in the near future. Even tho I don't claim to be vegetarian or vegan, I do love new experiences and good food. Bloom delivered both in a satisfying, healthy way.

Review: Such a treat to have a fully vegan and gf meal. The decor is really cute. Server was very warm and helpful. The food was delicious. We had the chicken and waffles, churro waffles, and mousse on shortbread for dessert. All absolutely delicious, but the *chicken* was the stand out. Yum! Can't wait to come back next time we are in Chicago.
