Review: Gluten, lactose free and vegan pastries. Also lots of lattes. The pistachio one was delicious and original. The people working there were kind and it wasn’t crowded. Such a great localisation

Review: Copains has perfected making their Gluten-free options LOOK like conventional pastries, but they completely lack the ability to make them even taste good. Super disappointed, everything is heavy, doughy and either too sweet or not sweet enough. I understand we can't expect the same pastry as with gluten, but then their primary concern should be with making tasty pastries Also the loaf of bread wasn't celiac-friendly

Review: Went to this bakery in my neighborhood, drawn by its high ratings and gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. I tried a NY Roll, and to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. The pastry had an unsettling odor reminiscent of cat kibble, and it wasn’t even fresh—a glaring fault for something priced at €8. I’ve noticed it’s a common thing for gluten free bakeries, that they sell produce that isn’t fresh, i assume due to high cost of production. For 8€ I still expect something freshly baked. Initially I wanted a tarte but I’ve noticed that they all came with margarine that’s packed with trans fats which I don’t eat (IYKYK) Sadly there were not many options for those who don’t eat trans fats. It is funny that sometimes we try to make healthier choices but unknowingly we can make even worse ones. The NY Roll was barely edible from the chocolate-covered side, but without the chocolate, it was impossible to eat, even if one were truly hungry. The strange cat food-like smell lingered, and it went straight à la poubelle. I simply cannot comprehend where such high ratings come from. I agree that the interior, the logo, and identica in general, their SMM and even merch—all is flawless, it’s a match made in heaven. The service was nice and friendly too. I already just had a coffee before coming so I didn’t have a chance to taste it here, which I’ll do in the future. However, the roll was undoubtedly the worst pastry I’ve ever had, and I felt utterly foolish for paying so much for it. While the bakery’s gluten-free offering may be an advantage, and perhaps still better than Noglu, it falls drastically short in delivering quality, great-tasting treats.
