Review: When I planned my trip to San Francisco, I looked for gluten-free food options. This was one of the top recommendations, and I can see why. The baked goods are fantastic. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the cinnamon roll was moist and chewy, and our sandwiches were so savory I had to finish it all. The baked goods weren’t the only thing that I loved. The guy working the register was so sweet, and very personable. I wish I had gotten his name, so I could call him out for how great he was. I am so happy that I came. I will definitely be ordering and having it shipped to me, because I don’t have anything like this.

Review: Worthwhile making the trip to if you are gluten free and even if you aren’t! Soft, flavorful pastries, and at a moderate price as well. I got the apricot tart (essentially a pop tart, the entire thing lightly glazed) which was probably my favorite, cinnamon roll (classic, thick, substantial layer of icing), chocolate cookies (extremely soft, accurate double chocolate flavor), the berry pie (flavorful fruit inside, granulated sugar on the outside), and their cheesey meat/olive savory bread dish (unsure the name) which was also lovely. I will return when I come back to SF! Only thing is this is located in the Ferry Building which is very fun for shopping and atmosphere but they don’t have seating at this shop itself so go with the expectation you will eat them somewhere else.

Review: Old school bakery. It’s advertised as gluten free bakery. I wouldn’t know the difference since I’m not allergic or anything. The taste was okay. Their cinnamon rolls were good, the cupcake was a bit sweet.

Review: Ok gluten free patisserie eatery. Low to average gluten free texture. Thankfully we've come a long way globally on the gluten free front and gf patisserie goods are far better than those served up here. FOOD: The taste of foods are good to ok. We ordered over 12 varied items - so this review is rather holistic. The textures ranged from ok to terrible. Most were overly crumbly and/or oily. We're used to Australian gluten free patisseries and cafe standards where a gluten free croissant or danish is indistinguishable from a gluten containing one. coeliac bakeries back home have breads and cakes that are stretchy and soft or crispy and flaky - at Mariposa it's the old-school crumbly or hard, noticeably gluten free. pastries that I thought we'd well and truly mastered beyond. Wouldn't go back to - however not beyond eating - just not fantastic. They do have a broad range of goods which was really nice to see and here's hoping with some pastry chef expertise and training their food standards improve. STAFF: Not overly friendly or communicative. Seem to dislike their jobs and have zero passion in the food they provide which was rather sad and disappointing. ACCESSIBILITY: Well positioned minutes from taxi stands, bus stops, ferry routes and bike pathways. Wheelchair and pram, walker accessible. Toilets are a minute or so walk away around the corner. INTERIOR: Set within the gorgeous market building - their displays are great, clear and inviting. Premises seem to be clean and well kept and they have great clear signage on what's including nuts, dairy etc which is very useful. OVERALL: Ok by North American gluten free food standards. Wouldn't be back, I can see why so many coeliacs make Australia home.
