Review: We wanted a nice shrimp lunch in the French Quarter in New Orleans and were recommended "Deanie's" by a local bar owner. This is a large, open restaurant with a nice vibe, decent music, and the staff are really friendly and helpful, especially our server, Marlana. We opted for the half seafood platter and were asked if we wanted it broiled or fried, and we opted for the former. We could not fault any of the food. The catfish, oysters, shrimps, soft shell crab and crab meat balls were all beautifully cooked and the portion size was just right for the two of us. I can definitely recommend a meal at Deanie's to anyone who loves their seafood.

Review: Visiting New Orleans for my birthday. This was our last night. I googled some places and this place was close by. I will give all the positives. The restaurant was very clean, and the server was nice and personable. We had the crab dip, which was good. I had the voodoo drink, which was OK. A little sweet but ok. They have these red potatoes that are really good and flavorful. Unfortunately, the seafood platter was not good. Don't get me wrong, the portion size was great. But that food had absolutely NO seasoning. I mean, none. You have to use the dips provided to have flavor. It's so unfortunate because the platter was cooked well, but without seasoning, it's a no-go for me. For that reason, I won't visit there again. There is also a 3.5% charge if you use a card to pay.
